Aviary has pretty powerful web based graphic editing tools, recently they released an another tool that is quite useful for bloggers. Falcon image markup editor is the latest edition to the Aviary suite of applications. Combined with Aviary Firefox addon Talon it provides a simple and efficient way to take screenshots and add simple markup to those images.
Talon is Aviary Firefox addon, once installed it allows you to take screenshots of web pages. It adds menu items to the mouse right click context menu, there are two menu items one is for editing the images directly from the web pages and the second one is for taking screenshots of the web pages.
You can right-click on any image on the web and select Edit image, it allows you to save the image to Aviary or just edit the image using Falcon app. If you select edit image in aviary it loads the falcon editor and you can text, arrows, bubbles etc for illustration purpose. If you want to work on an advanced editor you can even launch the Pheonix Aviary Editor which allows advanced editing and supports layers.
If you want to take a screenshot of the webpage you can right-click and select a region of the webpage, or the whole web page and either save it to the desktop, edit in falcon editor or save it to your Aviary account.
There are several addons for Firefox which allow you to take screenshots but the Aviary extension is super easy and best of all you can directly edit the image and save it to your desktop.
