TweetDeck, the popular desktop twitter client released a new version today. The new version 0.32 of the client comes with twitter lists support, LinkedIn, new retweets and geolocation features.
Built-in twitter lists allows you to create, edit and build lists from someone else’s lists. This is useful if you want to add some twitter users to the existing list instead of starting from scratch. With the new lists, the old TweetDeck groups feature will retire, you can export your groups to lists using the new feature. The existing groups will stay but you won’t be able to create new ones any more. TweetDeck also gives suggestions of users to add to the lists.
Twitter recently introduced a new retweets feature, TweetDeck now fully supports this feature. The new style retweets will show your timeline, flagged with a retweet indicator and the original tweeter’s profile picture. If you prefer old retweet style, you can set it to old style in the settings window.
Geolocation is also supported with this release, geo coded tweets are identified in TweetDeck with a yellow pin at the bottom of the tweet. Clicking on the pin will show a map with location of tweet. Gelolocation feature is opt-in in twitter, that means by default it is off, you will only see geo data for the users who opt-in for this feature. Another feature in this release is the support for LinkedIn along with twitter, facebook and myspace, you can add a column for your LinkedIn contacts.
