Chrome for Android is the mobile browser for Android based smartphone devices. Today Google announced some new features for Chrome for Android browser including more languages support and other user requested features.
Chrome for Android is still in beta and will only work on Android 4.0 ICS running devices. Chrome for Android now has support for 31 more languages and is available in all countries where Google Play Store is available.
Chrome now has an in-built mobile/desktop theme switcher, using that you can revert to desktop version if you don’t like the mobile version of the website. Now a days most websites have added mobile themes, but if you want to go back to the desktop version sometimes it is not possible. Few sites have added mobile/desktop theme switcher but some didn’t. In this case in-built theme switching in browser is very useful.
Other features that are added to Chrome for Android are
- You can now add bookmarks as shortcuts on your home screen, so you can get to your favorite sites faster.
- Choose your favorite apps to handle links opened in Chrome.
- Have a proxy setup for Wi-Fi access? You can now use Chrome with the system proxy configured in Android settings.
