Twitter for iPhone is getting a major upgrade soon with several useful features according to leaked screenshots of Twitter app 4.3 version change log. 9to 5 Mac posted the screenshots along with the run down of features of Twitter for iPhone app. Some third party applications are far better than the official Twitter app for some power users, but this is going to change with the expected update soon.
Among the features revealed in the screenshots posted by 9to5 Mac are expanded tweets feature that was introduced last month in the web version of Twitter. This allows users to view content from partner websites with in tweets, examples include image previews, video playback etc. Twitter will now curate accounts, best tweets and photos related to an event.
Another important feature is Push notifications for tweets, includes notifications from selected people you follow. You can see brief notifications in the status bar while your are using the app, dubbed as “Ambient notifications”.
Other features includes support for personalized trends, clicking on avatars will take you to their profile, and also includes performance improvements, bug fixes.
The timeline for this updates availability is not yet known, but 9to5Mac points out that a similar leak appeared for Instagram and after that the app is released in ten days. So we might expect that this update will roll out soon to users.
