Intel and Lava launched Xolo X900 back in April in India, this is the fist smartphone powered by Intel Atom processor. The Xolo X900 launched with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board and said that, Ice Cream Sandwich update will follow soon, but that soon took atleast 6 months and finally the software update has arrived.
Lava posted about the update on it’s Facebook page. “We are pleased to announce that Android v4.0 ICS upgrade is now available on Xolo X900. We thank all our Xolo X900 customers for their patience and truly hope that the ICS upgrade will make your smartphone experience even more enjoyable.”
The software update is available as over-the-air (OTA) as well as through PC. Users can download the software either way to update their Xolo phone, once updated check for build number V2.190-CRAK-user.
The update brings performance improvements, a new UI, browser improvements, improved multi-tasking, face unlock and several other improvements.
Lava Xolo X900 is powered by a 1.GHz single core Atom processor, 400Mhz GPU, a 4.03 inch LCD touch screen with 1024X600 resolution and quadband HSPA+, an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash. It is retailing in India for a price of Rs. 17,500.
