Yahoo is redesigning a new home page and last month some pictures leaked of the new design, and now AllThingsD has posted a screenshot. The latest redesign screenshot takes the approach of a tile based design, what we have seen in the recently released Windows 8.
The tile based redesign will do good on touch screen devices. The screenshot shows tiled photos on top of the page with scrollable arrows left and right. As part of the redesign, Yahoo is still tweaking the design according to reports and the other changes include new icons for Yahoo properties, fewer text links, social integration and more personalization options and no ad on the top of the page. The new design is code named Project Homerun according to AllThingsD
The new design looks to be designed keeping the latest touch screen devices in mind. It might take at least few months before the new design is rolled out to all Yahoo users. Yahoo has redesigned it’s home page several times in the past and some users really hate these changes, will users accept these changes this time, as the redesign is radically different that the current home page.
