IE10 came with Windows 8 and surprisingly it is only compatible with Windows 8 until now, but this is going to change now, as Microsoft has released IE10 release preview for Windows 7 users, Windows Vista and XP users are left in the old though. IE10 includes several speed improvements and other goodies, the first preview of IE 10 was released in April.
IE10 brings speed and security improvements, it also has better standards support, like HTML5 and CSS3. It also offers a full screen browsing experience and implements somewhat controversial “Do Not Track” policy by default. With this release preview Windows 7 users will also receive all these features. “Browser performance is critical for running today’s modern Web sites and applications. IE10 is all around fast, bringing improved hardware acceleration and Chakra JavaScript engine to Windows 7.”, Rob Mauceri, Group Program Manager, IE at Microsoft wrote on msdn blogs.
To test IE10’s performance at first hand, users can try the new demos at IE Test Drive site, for example hardware accelerated rendering can be tested in the Aston Martin 3D visulaization, and and interactivity, touch, and media with Audio Explosion.
