From the leaks in the past few days we know that Google is going to make some announcement related gaming on Google Play. As the leaks suggested Google has announced the Google Play Game Services today at Google I/O developer conference. The new gaming service supports multiplayer, leaderboards, achievements and saving the game data and settings in the cloud. Developers are also getting several APIs for the platform with tools for restricting piracy etc. the Game service not only supports Android it will also works on iOS and Web.
With Game services developers can incorporate achievements for promoting games allow users to login with their Google+ profiles to track their high scores. All the developers will get access to the game services through various APIs. Real-time multiplayer support is available on Android devices now. Using Google+ circles maximum four friends or auto-matched players can play, support for more players is coming soon.
Several games using these game services are live including World of Goo, Super Stickman Golf 2, Beach Buggy Blitz, Kingdom Rush, Eternity Warriors 2, and Osmos. The Google Play Game services is available on Android devices running Froyo and up.
