Facebook wants you to hook to their platform as longer as possible, so they have built an instant games feature on the Messenger app. The instant games include 17 titles as of now which can be played on Facebook Messenger or on news feed. The games are built using HTML5 platform for quick loading so there is no downloading involved. Messenger users can start playing the games instantly by opening a chat window with your contacts. You can challenge your friends or contacts, your contacts will see your high scores and they can beat the scores by playing the games.

The Instant Games is launching in 30 countries starting today and according to Facebook the feature works on newer iOS and Android versions. Starting a game is as easy as it can be, open a chat window with a friend and click the game controller icon which is placed along with the other icons including sticker icon. After finishing the round it will post the score to the conversation so your friends can see the and challenge you with better score.
The initial game set includes 17 instant games titles including Pac-Man, EverWing, Space Invaders, Track & Field 100M, Galaga and many others. Facebook says they will add more titles in the coming future. Facebook is tapping in to its billion of users with the instant games feature, the service is not yet monetized as of now, but Facebook will soon introduce ways to monetize the games to keep the developers happy and increase its own earnings. The games currently do not have any in-app purchases or ads , but soon may include in-app purchases or level upgrades depending on the demand.
Facebook games were pretty famous few years back, if you remember all those annoying notifications you received from your friends. As users moved on to mobile games Facebook is testing a new method to get back into the casual gaming market with the launch of instant games. These instant games can be played with one-on-one or in a group conversation.
