Asus has launched the MeMO Pad, a 7-inch tablet in India for Rs. 9,999. The MeMO Pad ME172V runs on Android Jelly Bean operating system, it has a 7-inch Twisted Nematic (TN) display with a resolution of 1024×600 resolution.
Asus MeMO Pad is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor. It uses a Twisted Nematic display at 1024×600, that comes to 169PPi with 10 finger multi-touch with wide-view technology. Other specifications include 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory with microSD card slot to expand the memory upto 32GB. It’s front HD camera can take 720p HD videos at 30fps, and the f/2.0 aperture helps in capturing more light.
It has a 4270mAh battery that gives 7 hours of battery life for this tablet. This is a Wi-Fi only tablet and doesn’t support 3G. You will also get Asus goodies with this tablet, 5GB of free lifetime storage space from Asus WebStorage, and Asus Webstorage Office for viewing, editing and sharing Microsoft Office documents. It also includes SonicMaster audio technology, SuperNote Lite and MyPainter apps from Asus.
It will compete with several tablets from Indian companies in this price bracket along with the recently launched Acer Iconia B1 (Rs. 7,999) and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 311 (Rs. 12,599).
