Asus has announced the improved version of it’s PadFone smartphone cum tablet combo, called PadFone infinity. Like the previous PadFone and PadFone 2, the smartphone will fit into a PadFone dock station to utilize the 10.1 inch screen.
PadFone infinity is powered by a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 600, and runs on Android Jelly Bean OS. It has unibody design crafted using aerospace-grade aluminum. It supports LTE speeds upto 100mbps. It comes with a 5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1080p, at 441pixels per inch.
It packs 2GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage. Connectivity options include 2G, 3G DC-HSPA+, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, AGPS/ GLONASS. It packs a 13MP camera at the rear with f/2.0 five-element lens, it can capture upto 100 sequential shots at 8 frames per second.
PadFone also comes with Asus apps like SuperNote for note taking and Story for creating stunning photo albums and Asus Echo for voice control of PadFone Infinity.
Asus PadFone Infinity will give upto 19 hours of 3g talk time, that can be bumped to 40 hours by connecting it to the dock station. It will be available in Taiwan first starting this April and then launched in select countries at some time later. The price of this PadFone Infinity including the dock station is $1316.
