Google Chrome is a fast, elegant and nifty browser that lacks just one thing which keeps me out from using it. The Add-ons. Firefox on the other hand flaunts all its add-ons whole heartedly! But Chrome’s speed and responsiveness really pulls me towards it.
The StumbleUpon toolbar on FireFox acts as a great extension giving me the ability to discover new content and share cool weblinks with friends. While using Chrome, I always missed this feature. But not for so long. Read on how I can now fulfill my desire to find new content, websites, videos, pictures and what not.Â
Let see how you can discover new content from any browser, not just Firefox.Â
Bring back the StumbleUpon Toolbar
Apart from providing a Firefox Addon, StumbleUpon also offers a web toolbar which can be used with any browser.
Add the StumbleUpon Web Toolbar to your bookmarks.
Simple save the above link in your bookmarks and whenever you feel bored and the urge for new stuff arrised, just open the bookmark up. If you sign in through the stumbleupon site, you will automatically be logged in to the toolbar and will be able to write reviews and rate sites.
Discover new content with Delicious
Delicious, the famous bookmarking site provides a cool Random Bookmarklet. This bookmarklet lets you randomly browse the different websites bookmarked on Delicious.
Add the Delicious Randomizer button to your bookmarks.
Now whenever you feel like browsing some random new stuff, click that up. Although no social features such as rating or reviews are inbuilt into the bookmarklet, you can use this javascript bookmarklet to jump over the Delicious comments page of the open website, where you can also see the reviews written by others, and of course, save the site as your bookmark.
To add the bookmarklets, just drag the above given links to your bookmarks bar. If the bookmarks bar is not visible in your Chrome, just press Ctrl+B and it will pop up.

Wow. I tried the add ons with chrome using Windows vista OS and it worked.My question is whether the new chrome for Mac and Linux OS will include the add on feature by default? If so then Chrome is all set to rock the browser arena
Keshav says
@Narendra
These are not addons. These are normal bookmarks that the services provide themselves, not Google Chrome or any other browser. You’ll have to add them yourself unless of course, the browsers get them by default.
