The popular open source office suite OpenOffice 3.0 is released today. It’s a major release and introduces new features, it now runs natively on Mac OS X that means no need of Unix shell X11 to run on Mac systems.
OpenOffice 3 can open Microsoft Office 2007 formats like .docx, .xlsx etc, it can read the data but it can’t write the data to these file types. You can use it ti open Office 2007 files if you don’t have the Office 2007.
Currently OpenOffice.org site is down displaying errors, the front page is providing links to downloads from mirror sites. If it doesn’t work for you you can download from Softpedia.
