The cloud storage service provider Dropbox released some improvements to the user interface, and added new features to the web version of the service. Dropbox says the new design is simpler, more powerful and more beautiful web experience.
The new features include a photo viewer, an action bar, a right click menu and drag and drop functionality.
The design overhaul starts with a clean user interface with prominent icons. An action bar shows up when you select for quick actions to be performed on that file. The action bar allows to sort files by name, kind and date wise. Using it you can also do essential tasks like download, delete, rename, or move files. The action bar changes accordingly depending on the type like file, folder.
There is a new menu on right click which does the same actions listed in action bar. Right clicking on any file will reveal these action menu. This is a nifty feature which replaces browser right click menu and adds dropbox specific.
The other improvement is a new photo viewer which lets you see photos in full screen, this one is essential with the recently released auto syncing for photos and videos to drobox. The new interface also allows you to drag and drop files across folders just like you would do on a desktop app. The revamped search box displays results while you type.
