Windows 8 has been one of the major talking points of 2012 and with a totally new user interface and experience, it is on of the hottest OS in the market. Windows 8 phone experience is not as detailed as the tablet and laptop mode and the new modern UI along with a desktop experience make windows 8 a truly unique Operating System. Previously, a Windows 8 launcher was released which was based on the Windows 8 Mobile OS. The Launcher is still incredible, however, users cannot experience the full Windows 8 tablet and desktop experience. A new app is available for the Android OS which gives users a little taste of what Full Windows 8 feels like. It is, sadly, not a launcher but is a little app which works like the display on Windows 8 tablets. Also, you can launch applications using the app including the music and calender app. Even though most users would wait for a buggy Windows 8 tablet-like launcher, this is definitely a cool app if you want a little taste of Windows 8 on your Android device.
Basically, the app is made to trick others into thinking that you are running a full version of windows 8 on your tablet or smartphone but the new Metro UI is too hard too resist even if its not a fully functioning launcher.
Apart from the basic tiles display, the app has various tiles which can launch your default apps including the gallery, music player, camera and messages. It is, however, ad-supported and if you click on an app which your phone doesn’t have, then an ad page will open automatically.
The Concept of a Fake Windows 8 launcher/UI is brilliant and it looks and runs quite well on Android devices, especially tablets as the Full Windows 8 version is meant to run on tablets. The app is available for free here.
