Google is finally releasing a service to track your lost Android smartphones. The tools Android Device Manager will be available later this month and which allows any user with a Google account will be able to find his lost Android smartphone using the web interface.
The new tools will allow to ring your phone at maximum volume even if it is silent if you misplaced it somewhere. If you lost it somewhere else you can track your mobile phone on a map using the tool. In case you cant recover the phone immediately and you have important personal information you can always wipe the data remotely using these tools.
The Android Device Manager works with Android versions starting from Android 2.2 and Up that means 98% of the devices are covered. As a complimentary to the service there will be an Android app to manage all your devices. The service according to Google will be live later this month and any one with a Google account can use it.
This is the most useful feature that is lacking in Android, rival platforms Apple and Windows Phone already have this feature. Though some Android manufacturers like Sony with My Xperia app and Samsung with Find My Phone offer these kind of tools, Android itself didn’t support till now, and that will change later this month.
