GeeksPhone has put up the Peak+ smartphone for pre-order, this is an improved version of the Peak smartphone from GeeksPhone that released few months back. The Peak+ runs on the Firefox OS 1.1 and is up for pre-order with a price tag of 149 Euros. The price is same as the Peak phone, according to reports it is an introductory price and once the first batch of orders are over the price will go higher, it is not clear how much the increase will be.
The Peak+ is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 8225 processor with 1GB RAM. It features a 4.3-inch IPS multitouch screen with qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution. It will come with 4GB of onboard memory and a micro SD slot for memory expansion.
Other specifications include an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, micro USB, 3G etc.
The Peak+ is an improved version of the Peak smartphone that was launched with Keon few months back as developer versions. If you pre-order the device now, your order will be shipped in September this year, they seem to ship worldwide including India.
First Firefox OS based smartphone ZTE Open for consumers went on sale this month in Spain, the ZTE Open was released by Telefonica. The Peak+ smartphone follows the Firefox OS based smartphones ZTE Open and Alcatel One released elsewhere.
