Gionee is a Chinese mobile brand that launched few devices including Dream D1 and Gpad G1 in India earlier has officially launched a new phablet in the Indian market. Gionee Gpad-G2 is a 5.3-inch Android phone powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. It is priced at Rs. 13,990 and will be available for purchase later this month.
It is powered by a 1.2GHz Mediatek Quad-core processor with PowerVR Series 5XT GPU and 1GB of RAM. It has 4GB of internal memory and a micro SD slot for expanding the memory upto 32GB. It has a 5.3-inch display at qHD resolution, although other specifications are good, the display is mediocre, a 5.3-inch screen with 960*540 pixels resolution means you won’t see sharp images.
Other specifications include 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera, an in-built DTS sound system, a 3000mAh battery for better standby times. It is dual-SIM phone with dual-standby. It runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
With the given specifications and price tag of INR 13,990 it will have tough competition with the likes of Micromax canvas HD and Karbonn Titanium series phones.
