Gionee has launched its mid-range smartphone M2 here in India, the Gionee M2 will carry a price tag of Rs 10,999 and will compete with several Android handsets from Micromax and others at this price point. Gionee M2 is a mid-ranger but packs a 4200mAh battery under the hood, there are not many phones in this segment except the recently launched Micromax Power with such a huge battery under the hood.
Gionee M2 features a 5-inch capacitive touch screen with 480 x 854 (FWVGA) pixels resolution. It is powered by a unknown 1.3GHz Quad-cpre Cortex A7 processor couple with a Mali 400MP GPU. On the memory front it comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded upto 32GB. It runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
Other specifications of the Gionee M2 include an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front facing camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, dual SIM, micro USB etc.
The main USP of the phone is its massive battery under the hood which according to Gionee will give 24hrs talk time on 3G and 31.5 hrs talk time on 2G and 555 hours of standby time. It will be available in Black and White colors.
