Gmail has released a new version for mobiles called Gmail for mobile 2.0. It is available for J2ME supported phones and BlackBerry phones. The new version improves speed significantly with smoother scrolling and no freezing.
Multiple account management allows you to quickly switch between Gmail accounts for example personal Gmail and Google Apps email. Now you can save multiple draft mails on your phone. If you have a QWERTY keyboard phone you can use shortcut keys. “Hit ‘z’ to undo, ‘k’ to go to a newer conversation, and ‘j’ to go to an older conversation. See Menu/Help in the app for more shortcuts.”
The most interesting feature is an offline support for Gmail on mobile, you can compose as well read most recent emails when you are not connected to a network. Any outgoing mail you save while offline will be sent immediately when you go online again.
You can access the mobile version of the Gmail at http://m.google.com/mail, Google Apps users can access mobile gmail at http://mail.google.com/a/your domain/m.
The Windows Fix says
It would be nice to see Verizon finally start supporting GMAIL in the U.S. Verizon just drives me up the wall with their crazy Operating System.
