Google has officially released the Nexus 5 smartphone with Android 4.4 KitKat. It is available in US, Canada, Europe and Australia starting today, in the blog post Google mentioned that the Nexus 5 is coming to India soon. This is the first time probably Google has noted that India will get the Nexus phone first, earlier phones came here very late compared to International launches.
Nexus 5 is already listed in the Google Play Store with a coming soon status. We can expect the phone to be available in India in a few weeks time. It will come in Black and White colors like the previous Nexus 4 sold in the country. Nexus 5 is priced at ?28,999 in India for the 16GB model, and the 32GB model will cost ?32,999 in India. These model are priced at $349 and $399 in the States. If you look at the Indian pricing it is quiet generous as companies have a tradition of overpricing their devices here. The previous generation phone Nexus 4 is priced at 25K in India.
Nexus 5 will come with latest hardware inside, 5-inch Full HD IPS screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 2.3Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor among other things.
