Google launched a redesigned search app for iPhone, the improved app promises completely redesigned interface, full-screen image search and all your Google apps in one place. The redesigned app features faster search results, swiping among other things.
The latest version of the app performs auto completion of search suggestions significantly faster and search results will also load faster. The search results will open in a new pane and you can swipe back to search results faster with slide-in panel.
The improvements also include for image search, search results occupy full screen to make use of the available screen real estate. The image results occupy nicely in a grid layout. You can click on a single image to get the details and swipe through the images one by one. You can hole an image to set it as wallpaper or save it your device.
On the home screen Apps button will allow you to quickly access all Google apps, these apps will load the web versions though but it is a nice touch to access all Google apps in one place. On the other tab you can find the apps installed on your iPhone.
The new app is significant improvement over the previous version which just looked like a wrapped version of the web interface. But this app looks like designed natively for the iPhone. Download the new Google Search app from iTunes to see the changes yourself. Via Google blog
