Android is the fastest growing operating system in the industry and with each new update, Google tries to add more and more convenient options. The stable OS has just about everything right including lockscreens, apps and homescreens. Even though there have been major improvements since Android first came out, there are certain issues which need to be resolved. One of these is to switch between various apps. The BlackBerry Playbook got popular due to its multitasking feature and several users are still complaining on the switch between apps in Android. While there has been no such feature in Android Jelly Bean, XDA developers have tried to take the matter in their own hands and a new “launcher” is now available which lets you switch between apps easily. GYF Side Launcher is an app for Android which lets you open apps directly from within other apps without pressing the home button and manually launching the app.
Basically, GYF Slide is more of an add-on than a launcher and it lets you open apps from the left side of the screen. You don’t need to go back to your homescreen and launch the app from the app drawer. Basically, the way this works is that there is a “launcher” hidden, which is running in the background which you can open any time. When you are inside any app, you just need to swipe your finger from the left side and it will open up a window with all the apps in your device.
Still in the beta stage, GYF Launcher is working on most Android smartphones. The process of opening apps from the homescreen and app drawer while using another app is not long and GYF slide launcher is not a must-have app for the OS, however, it does make the process short and easy. You can download the apk file using this link and can install it like any other app.
