HTC has updated the timeline for Android 4.0 update, according to HTC majority of HTC Android devices will receive Android 4.0 in June and July 2010. The updates once start rolling out it might take upto 45 days to reach your devices depending on partners due to issues like network testing etc.
If you have a device whose RAM is less than 512MB then you are out of luck to get the latest Android on your phone. These devices will stay with the current running Android version with out an update, but security updates and other software improvements will be pushed though.
The timeline of Android 4.0 update for HTC Devices is below.

The update includes HTC Sense UI 3.6, not Sense UI 4.0 that is released with HTC One X. This is due to specific hardware requirements of the HTC Sense UI 4.0
The list of devices that won’t receive Ice Cream Sandwich goodness include HTC ChaCha, HTC Salsa, HTC Wildfire S, HTC Explorer and others. HTC Tablets that won’t receive Android 4.0 include HTC Flyer, HTC EVO View 4G, and HTC Jetstream, these devices will remain on their current Android version that is Honeycomb.
