Instagram has announced video for the popular photo sharing application. This is a major update to the platform after Facebook acquired it, the video support is rumored from quite some time and finally yesterday they announced. Along with video on Instagram the core apps on iOS and Android are updated with new feature set.
According to Instagram blog, they added 13 new filters especially for video. After updating the apps when you launch the app you will see a movie camera icon, click that icon to launch video. The video is not unlimited like many apps it is restricted to short length.
You can create video clips not more than 15 seconds length, this is longer than what current hot video app Vine is offering, for information Vine videos are restricted to 6 seconds. Although maximum length is 15 seconds you can take shorter ones also but there is a minimum limit at 3 seconds.
Once your video is ready you can choose the thumbnail accompanied with your video. There is also a feature called Cinema which will stabilize your video to get rid of the unwanted shakes.
The Android and the iOS apps are updated with new video feature, you can grab them at their respective app stores.
