Apple has released iOS 7 mobile operating system yesterday night, it includes several new features. But all the features won’t be available in all active iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. This is usual and happens when a major new version of iOS announced. When iOS 5 came it left behind iPhone 3G and older devices. And this time with the iOS 7 iPhone 3GS got the axe, it won’t get the iOS 7 and will stuck forever in the iOS 6.X
This is not new and happens all the time with other operating systems also. When Microsoft launched Windows Phone 8, older devices didn’t get eh latest version either instead they got some elements of the OS as Windows Phone 7.8.
Leave the iPhone 3GS but iPhone 4 also won’t get all the exciting features except the OS itself. Let us see what devices will get the new features. iTunes Radio is the only feature that is available for devices that support iOS 7.
AirDrop is supported in iPhone 4S and later, iPod touch 5th gen, and iPad 2 and later including iPad mini. Siri will be available in iPhone 4S and later, iPod touch 5th gen, iPad 2 and later including iPad mini.
Filters in Camera announced with iOS 7 will be available only in iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5th gen, not even iPhone 4S got this feature. Filters in photos is supported in iPhone 4 and later, iPad 3 and iPad 4.
