Micromax has generated lot of hype this time for its newest Canvas device. Over the last few weeks we have seen leaks and teases in the form of photos and videos. Micromax recently announced the pre-bookings for Canvas 4, after few days supposed specs of the Canvas 4 leaked. Micromax has maintained a tight lip on the specifications even though it is taking pre-bookings. All this caused wild rumors and couple of media reports and some users started complaining that this is just rebranded version of the Blu Life One handset.
Is it really the rebadged Blu Life One, actually if you look at the pictures it does look like one. The teaser photos of Canvas 4 match with those of Blu Life One. The metal ring around the phone 13MP camera and the form factor all resemble each other in both the handsets. Blu is a mobile company from Amercias and is not a Chinese company but re brands Chinese mobile handsets like Micromax does. So it could be possible that both the firms sourced the same handset from the same Chinese vendor.
In any case Micromax has added a software customization stack on top of the Android it is running. Few weeks back it teased a image with “What Next” hinting at a new unlock mechanism on the Canvas 4. Along with those micromax might add some more customizations.
Coming to the specs Canvas 4 leaked specs are similar to the Blu Life One, which fuels speculation further. Life One also comes with 13MP BSI sensor rear camera and a front 5MP front camera. Other specifications of this phone include 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC with PowerVR 5XT GPU which is an upgrade from the Canvas HD GPU PowerVR SGX544. It has a 5-inch 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution screen and 1GB of RAM and 16GB of RAM.
If Canvas 4 also carries the same specifications then it is just a modest upgrade from the Canvas HD as we noted earlier when specs leaked. It is not worth the wait and all this excitement if it is a rebranded version of the Blu Life One.
