Jolla is releasing its first Sailfish smartphone to the public on November 27th in Finland. Jolla has partnered with the Finnish Telecom carrier DNA for its launch, DNA is the first carrier to support the Finnish company formed by ex-Nokia employees. Earlier this week Jolla announced that they have partnered with Nokia for HERE maps and they are pre-loading the Yandex Android app store in Sailfish phones.
Jolla first announced the Sailfish smartphone this may. Consumers have already pre-booked the device. According to reports the phone will be released on November 27th and 450 of them will be delivered to pre-ordered customers in DNA popup shop. The company will launch more phones in December and will deliver to all the pre-booked customers.
The international availability and pricing details are not announced. But reports suggest that it will be released to other markets as well in the future. In Finland it is priced at 399€.
Jolla Sailfish specs include a 4.5-inch IPS screen with qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution, it will come with Gorilla Glass 2 protection. It packs a 2100mAh battery that gives around 9/10 hours of talk time on 3G. It supports GSM/ 3G and 4G LTE networks. It comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED Flash, along with a 2MP front-facing camera. On the memory front it comes witha1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, a micro SD card slot is also available.
