LG announced the schedule for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update roll out for some of it’s Android smartphones. LG is not known to roll out software updates to its smartphones in a timely manner. The new update schedule only mentions few devices that will get the Jelly Bean.
The Jelly Bean update roll out will start next month, the first device to get the update is Optimus LTE II followed by LG Optimus G in December this year. The next devices to get the update are Optimus Vu and Optimus Vu II, these will be updated in the first quarter of the next year. There are no actual dates given for these updates, except a time frame.
LG didn’t mention it’s flagship Android smartphone in the Jelly Bean list, LG Optimus 4X HD, users of this phone are left in the cold for now. Also there is no mention of the L-Style Android smartphones launched this year, these phones came with Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box.
The Jelly Bean upgrade will bring a host of improvements including a new UI that came with Optimus G, browser improvements, Q Slide feature for split screen and some LG app tweaks. The roll out will began in Korea and will be expanded to other markets.
LG is rumored to announce a new Nexus phone this month on October 29th. It is rumored to come with Android 4.2 on board.
