LG today showcased its curved OLED products in India, including the LG G Flex smartphone launched originally in October this year. LG announced earlier that this phone will launch globally starting December. The LG G Flex smartphone launched in India will go on sale from February 2014 onwards. The price of the curved smartphone from LG is not yet officially announced, but according to LG officials it should cost Rs 60,000 to Rs 65,000 when it launches.
LG G Flex features a 6-inch curved P-OLED display with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). It is powered by a 2.26GHz Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Quad-Core Processor along with Adreno 330GPU. It packs 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Other specifications include a 13MP rear camera, with LED flash, 2.1MP front camera.
It weighs 177grams and it is 7.9mm at its thinnest and 8.7mm in thickness at its thickest part. LG is marketing it as the real curved smartphone as the vertical curve on it is more comfortable to use. Like the LG G2 this phone also comes with the back buttons for volume and power. LG has implemented a back coating for “self healing” that gives the smartphone ability to get rid of the scratches and dust due to usage.
It also brings some LG specific UI tweaks along with it including QTherater, Dual Window, Swing Lockscreen, Face Detection Indicator, Camera Timer and Urgent Call Alert.
