LG has officially launched the Optimus G pro phablet in India, the device is priced at Rs. 42,500. LG first showcased this device in February and launched in Korea later. It is a new flagship device from LG and it is going to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note II.
It is powered by a 1.7GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. The device features a 5.5-inch curved glass display in full HD resolution with 400ppi. On the camera front LG has equipped a 13 megapixel shooter at the back and a 2.1 MP front camera for video calls. It is a 4G LTE equipped phone but not sure if the Indian version will have it or not.
Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and AGPS. It comes with 3140mAh battery under the hood. It runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Optimus UI version 3.0.

The market size for 5 inch and above screens is expected to be 1.5 million units by end of 2013. Based on this insight, with Optimus G Pro we have pushed the boundaries of computing and technological innovation to develop a smartphone that caters to both business and lifestyle needs of today’s customers. With this launch we are gearing towards our aim of capturing 10% market share of the smartphone category by end of 2014.”
The pricing of the phone is steep in our opinion and you have better looking handsets at this range. Also Samsung Galaxy Note III is expected in August, the current competitor to Optimus G Pro, the Note II is selling at Rs. 27500 with a Rs. 10000 buyback offer.
