BlackBerry announced that its Blackberry Messenger (BBM) will come pre-installed in LG smartphones. BlackBerry and LG partnered to pre-install the BBM on LG Phones, BlackBerry earlier announced similar deals with other mobile manufacturers like Micromax.
LG will start pre-loading the BBM on its devices with the LG G Pro Lite. LG will pre-install the BBM as a standard way and also through virtual loading (via LG App Manager). LG has launched G Pro Lite in India in October for Rs 22990. BBM is also available as a standalone download from the Google Play Store, whether pre-loaded or not users can download from there.
“BBM is widely used throughout the Middle East, Africa and Indonesia where smartphone users tend to engage heavily in social networking,” said Kevin Shin, Vice President of Marketing for Asia, the Middle East and CIS countries of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The LG G Pro Lite offers an optimized BBM experience with its large, high quality display and embedded Stylus Pen.”
BlackBerry released BBM earlier this year on Android and iOS recently after a lot of hiccups. BlackBerry later announced an update and added support for iPad iPod among other things. Lately BlackBerry is partnering with device manufacturers to pre-load its BBM on their devices.
