Mega has released an official Android app today, you can download the app from the Google Play store now. According to Mega both iOS app and a Windows Sync client are in the final stages of development and they will be released soon as well. The Mega Android app is not new, Mega acquired a third party app and released as an official version. Kim Dotcom earlier said that iOS app is in the works. Instead of working on an Android app they just acquired an app with good features and released it to the public.

The app change log says the app is now maintained by Mega contractors. The app received a redesign but it is not clear what has changed. The app now uses thumbnails as MEGA site and the older thumbnails generated by the app will be replaced by these. It also added an option to select any folder on your device among other things like bug fixes and improvements.
