Micromax has started accepting pre-orders for its next Canvas handset, Canvas 4 A210 from June 28th onwards. According to reports the pre-orders are going well, and it is expected to be released on July 8th. What surprised many is that Micromax didn’t reveal the specifications of this phone, may be it is testing its own brand value. Meanwhile AndroidOS.in published a report claiming specifications of the Canvas 4 before the official launch.
According to its sources Canvas 4 features a 5-inch IPS display not the 5.5-inch screen according to a previous leak. Previous rumors suggested that this is a Full HD screen at 1080p but that is also not true according to the latest info, it is the the same HD 720p screen found in its predecessor, Canvas HD. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC and 1GB of RAM. Internal storage is pegged at 16GB and comes with a micro SD slot.
On the Camera front it comes with a 13megapixel rear camera, which is apparent from the official pictures on the Micromax site. It supposedly carrying a 5 megapixel front camera for video calls and for those selfies. It packs a 2000mAh battery under the hood to power the device, which may not be enough for a 5-inch screen.
Canvas 4 measures 8.9mm in thickness meaning it is not a slim phone and weighs around 145gms.
If we take these specs into consideration then this is a modest upgrade from the Canvas HD A116. So the pricing may not be steep as expected earlier, and you can expect it to be priced in the range of Rs. 16000 to 17000 as the report suggests.
