Micromax officially launched its latest phablet A240 also known as Canvas Doodle 2 in India today. This is the latest and expensive handset from Micromax. Canvas Doodle 2 was teased from some time on it Facebook page, now it is officially available from online retailers.
Canvas Doodle 2 comes with a Stylus like the Canvas Doodle A111 its cheaper cousin. Currently this phone is the most expensive from Micromax, sitting above the recently launched Canvas 4. This phone is going to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Samsung Galaxy Note series of phablets. But how far it will be successful is yet to be seen.
Micromax is known for its affordable pricing when it comes to its smartphones, but recently it is going up and up in its pricing. The recently launched Canvas 4 could not repeat the success of its Canvas HD, one of the reason is the higher pricing. Although it did come with some interesting features those are not deal breakers anyway.
Spec wise Canvas Doodle 2 features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1280 x720 pixels, which comes to a pixel density of 257ppi. It is powered by the same MediaTek 6589T Quad Core processor that is seen in most of the budget Android handsets and also on Canvas 4 and Canvas HD. It is clocked at 1.2Ghz along with 1GB of RAM. Other specifications include a 12MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, 16GB of internal storage and 2600mAh battery. The internal memory is not expandable.
It runs on Android 4.2.1 Android Jelly Bean OS and comes with Micromax apps like M!store, M!Live etc., it comes with a Stylus which can be used to Doodle using the M!Doodle app.
