Micromax has launched an octa-core processor powered smartphone in its Canvas line of smartphones, the new phone called Canvas Nitro is priced at Rs 12,990. At this price range it is going to compete with the newly launched Moto G (2nd Gen), which is available from Flipkart at Rs 12999.
Micromax Nitro looks like any other Micromax phone, except this time it comes with a faux leather back. The faux leather we have seen before on Samsung Galaxy products and we know that is not something to look for when buying a phone. Other design cues resemble Micromax phones. It comes with a 5-inch IPS HD 720p display, under the hood is MediaTek Octa-Core processor clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM. Its nearest competitors are using Snapdragon chips.
Other specifications of Micromax Canvas Nitro include 13MP rear camera along with 5MP front facing camera. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. On the internal memory front it comes with 8GB internal storage with a micro SD card slot for expanding the memory upto 32GB. Nitro comes with a 2500mAh battery under the hood to provide juice, it promises to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time and 320 hours of standby time.
On the inside is Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Micromax promises an update at later time. It is currently sold at Snapdeal exclusively following the current launches.
