Yesterday HCL launched Android tablets and today Micromax has announced the launch of an Android tablet FunBook. There are several cheap and budget tablet launches in the past few weeks, while the quality and usability of these tablets is up for debate, these launches have started a kind of war price war between the manufacturers. Each one trying to undercut others with a cheaper price tag on their tablet, ultimately it is good for the consumer to have a wide range of products to choose.
Micromax Funbook launched today is powered by a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is targeted towards the education sector. That means it will compete with the HCL tablets launched yesterday, they are also targeting the education sector.
Funbook is priced at Rs. 6499 and boasts a 7 inch capacitive screen with 480 x 800 px resolution, 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera, 4GB of internal storage expandable up to 32GB, and 512 MB RAM. 3g support through a Tata Photon USB dongle that comes with the tablet.
These tabs will come with a pre-loaded e-learning app through which educational content can be accessed, the content comes several publishers including Pearson Everon, GK Publishers, Scholarhub and more.
