Micromax, the maker of affordable and cheap phones and tablets has released an updated version of it’s Funbook Android tablet. This time they have came up with a new tablet called the Funbook Pro, the successor of Funbook tablet.
The Funbook Pro tablet runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich and is powered by Cortex A8 1.2GHz processor. It has 1GB of RAM, and a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution. It has VGA front facing camera, 8GB built-in storage and microSD card slot that supports storage up to 32GB. The device also includes an HDMI port.
The device has support for 3G via USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, and USB 2.0. Micromax has included some handy apps in the Funbook such as Zip, Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Text Editor, YouTube and more. The device comes with a massive 5,600 mAh battery, which will provide more than 15 hours of battery backup.
Micromax is also offering a Tata Docomo Photon+ data card along with Funbook Pro tablet. But the datacard’s postpaid connection will become active only after the payment of Rs 500 at any Tata Teleservices Store.
At the launch of the Funbook Pro tablet, CEO Micromax, Deepak Mehrotra said,
“Today’s youth are tech savvy, but at the same time restless; they want to buy and experience new innovations that make their life easier but in a matter of a few clicks. Inspired by the huge response for 7″ Funbook on Snapdeal, we are glad to continue this relationship with them for the new 10″ Funbook Pro to provide a simpler way to the restless young heads for owning the device.
The device will cost Rs 9999 and is available online from Snapdeal.com. The device will compete with the recently launched Karbonn smart Tab which posses identical specifications, a big difference is Funbook Pro uses Cortex A8 processor, while Karbonn Smart tab uses MIPS based processor. Though Karbonn Smart Tab costs 3k less than the Funbook pro.
