Windows 8 comes with pre-installed core apps that were optimized to run in Metro interface of Windows 8, these include Windows Mail, Calendar, Music and Games. All of these might get a refresh before we see the next major update to the Windows platform in the form of Windows Blue.
Windows Blue rumored as the next major update to the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, Microsoft is planning to release updates to the Windows 8 core apps before Windows Blue, Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet reports, she is spot on regarding Windows Blue. The update might come as early as this month for both Windows 8 and Windows RT according to her sources.
These are core apps and require some polishing, particularly the Music app, which is a bit of let down in Windows 8. Microsoft officials are not commenting about the update as usual. The update is expected to bring improvements to the Windows 8 core apps.
Microsoft updated these apps before Windows 8 RTM and official release on October 26th 2012.
