Motorola has shut shop in India officially after Google’s acquisition. As part of the restructuring Motorola said in-order to streamline its business it is shutting its business in India. It announced it won’t launch any new products and will provide support only for the existing products. So we thought Motorola will not come back to India anytime soon, but looks like it is re-entering the market with the low-end Moto G expected to launch on November 13th, i.e tomorrow.
Motorola has posted a message on its official Facebook page that reads “Namast?, India! Register today for Wednesday’s global livestream and be the first to see Moto G”. This we can take it as an indication that Motorola is launching Moto G in India. Earlier also Motorola has tweeted Namaste indicating the Moto G launch. Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside is also expected to arrive in Delhi, may be he is coming for a launch event, we are not sure about this but it gives a good indication that Moto G might be launching in India.
India is a big market for Android devices, particularly the low-end smartphones will sell like anything in India. So it is natural for companies not to ignore the Indian market, so it is no wonder that Motorola might be coming back with a product that is affordable.
For now take this with a grain of salt until some solid confirmation comes out. If at all Moto G launches in India it might come with a price tag of Rs. 15,000 which is very good for a Moto phone if you look at the specs. It is expected to come with a 4.5-inch display with HD resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad Core processor. Other specifications include 5MP rear camera, 16GB of storage etc.
