Motorola unveiled Moto G two days back, it packs decent hardware and launched at a great price. Moto G started rolling in some countries already including Brazil, Latin America and Europe. Moto G will launch in India and US in January 2014, Motorola announced at the time of launch.
Moto G comes with pure Android version 4.3 now, but Motorola promised that it will update the devices to Android 4.4 KitKat in few weeks. If you are in India or US and looking forward to this mobile, here is the good news, Moto G will come pre-installed with Android 4.4 KitKat the latest greatest Android version from Google. Google released KitKat few weeks back along with Nexus 5.
Omio got the confirmation for the same from Mark Randal, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Operations at Motorola. According to him, in the first phase it will come with Android 4.3 and these people will get 4.4 by the end of January. The second phase roll out starts after Christmas and these people will get Moto G with Android 4.4 installed. The phase two list includes US and India among other South East Asia countries.
“Here is the way to think about it: we have different waves of releases”. “UK, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, France: are in what we call Wave 1”. “And wave 1 will release with 4.3 [Android Jelly Bean], and by the end of January, all those people will get onto 4.4”
“Wave 2, products that we ship after Christmas, will start with KitKat”. “So if you think about it, everyone by the end of January will have KitKat”. “Wave 2 is in the US; there’s South East Asia, and other countries”
In India it is expected to be priced around Rs. 15,000 for the 8GB version and slightly higher for the 16GB version.
