Motorola has announced that it is offering the Moto X for $349 off-contract as part of the Cyber Monday sale. But Moto X didn’t go well as planned as Motorola is not able tot keep its website up during the promotion. The website went down when the sale is about to start and the biggest day for Motorola became a disaster.
Motorola’s CEO, Dennis Woodside apologized for the mess and promised to offer the sale again in two days. He wrote on Motorola blog that they will offer the $350 off-contract sale tomorrow, that is Wednesday and also on Monday, December 9th. If you want to take advantage of the deal and disappointed with yesterday’s site issues, wait for a day you can have it again.
Here is what we are going to do: Starting at 12 pm EST/9 am PST this Wednesday, we will relaunch the $349 promotion. To help make up for this major inconvenience to shoppers, we will also add an additional promotional day on Monday, December 9. We will double the quantity of phones available, while supplies last, to allow as many people as possible to take advantage of the promotion. We’re also extending the 30% off offer on accessories to these two days.
What happened is that Motorola didn’t anticipated the demand for the Moto X and un prepared for the Cyber Monday sale it announced. Users bombarded the site with orders as they don’t want to miss this deal which will give them $150 off on Moto X.
Motorola released Moto X in this August. The unique factor of this phone is that users can customize the phone externals and memory using a web application called Motomaker.
