OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 3 this year in June, the OnePlus 3 is the most popular phone OnePlus had launched so far. In less than 6 months after launch OnePlus is upgrading the OnePlus 3 with the launch of OnePlus 3T as expected. There are not many differences between OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T except, a latest processor, better front facing camera, and a bigger battery and a new 128 GB model.
The OnePlus 3 comes in two colors, a soft gold color and a new Gunmetal color. OnePlus also announced the launch of latest Oxygen OS based on the Android 7.0 Nougat, it will be available to both the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T by the end of the year. There is no information on when it will be available in India as of now, but the availability in US and Europe is from November 22nd and 26th respectively. The 64GB version is priced at $439 (~30,000) and the 128GB version is priced at $479 (~32,500).
Specifications
The specifications are not different from the earlier leaks. The 3T comes with a faster processor Snapdragon 821 SoC compared to the Snapdragon 820 on the OnePlus 3. While OnePles 3 came with 64GB storage the new smartphone comes with both 64GB and 128GB models. The dimensions and the weight of the phone is same and so the look of the phone compared to its older sibling. The display is also the same as the one in OnePlus 3, there were rumors that the 3T might come with LCD display, but it came with AMOLED display with 5.5-inch screen and 1080×1920 pixels resolution.
The OnePlus 3T comes with the same rear facing camera but the front camera has been upgraded from 8-MP to 16MP in OnePlus 3T with phase detection auto-focus, optical image stabilization and 4K video support. While the OnePlus 3 has 3000mAh battery, the OnePlus 3T comes with 3400mAh battery under the hood, that should improve the battery life in the new phone. It supports Dash charge like the older sibling which allows for faster charging.
The release date for India is not yet clear so we can expect an announcement in the near future. Given it is a slight upgrade from the OnePlus 3 it is not worth buying the phone it you have already OnePlus 3, but if you are looking for OnePlus 3 then it is better to go for OenPlus 3T.
