Musicy is a freeware to rip internet radio stations as MP3 files. I don’t recommend you to rip all the radio stations you find but it is a good software to record multiple radio stations with the convenience of few clicks.
Musicy includes a player, a ripper and a library to manage the recorded audio streams. Uisng stations module you can find the internet radio stations you want to listen or record. The radio stations are organized in various categories including country lists, genre, top 500 etc, you can pick a category and search with in that category. Once you ave the stations you can click to listen or to rip the station. If you select listen it will played in the built player. if you select RIP it will be added to the ripper queue, in the ripper queue you can add more than one radio station.
You can simultaneously record multiple radio stations or select one by one. The files are saved as MP3 files, the whole radio stream is saved as single MP3 so if you RIP for longer time you may end up with a huge file. The bitrate of the ripped file is same as the radio station bitrate, usually around 128 which is not bad for MP3.
After you stop ripping the station these trakcs will be loaded to Library module, here you can organize the tracks. When you RIP a station it is stored in a temp folder, be sure to save the track from the library to another folder. You can filter and search the saved files from the library.
Musicy is a freeware for windows, it is a pre beta release, so be aware that there may be bugs in the software. It worked perfectly in my testing, the interface is very rough, since it is a pre beta release it can be improved in later releases. Musicy is perfect for recording internet radio stations.
