Reliance Communications today announced the launch of a 3G Android tablet priced at Rs. 14,499. This is the second tablet from reliance and an upgrade to the previous tab it release some time back.
Reliance 3G Tab V9A is powered by a 1.4GHz processor, 512 MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory. The only drawback in this tab is that it runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, as the tab has 512MB RAM it qualifies for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, that would have been a better choice. May be in future it is upgradable to Android 4.0, it is not clear yet.
Other specifications of the tablet include 7’ inch TFT LCD WSVGA display capacitive multi touch screen with 1024*600 resolution. It has a 3megapixel front camera for video calling, 0.3megapixel rear camera, and supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1. It has GPS, FM Radio, G-Sensor, Compass etc.
As a promotional offer Reliance is bundling some offers along with the tablet, these include free 3GB data usage per month for 3 months, unlimited video calls to Reliance 3G for 3 months, 2 months of free subscription to BigFlix movie rentals and 1 year free Mobile security from McAfee.
The tablet will be available in all 13 circles where Reliance has 3G licenses and it will be sold through Reliance Digital stores.
