The Google tablet was rumored to carry a price tag of $199 earlier, but the current price stands at $249, to cut the price Google pushed the release date to July. At $199 price tag Google tablet will directly compete with the Amazon kindle Fire which is also priced at $199.
The tablet manufactured by Asus is 7-inch and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It will come with Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor if the rumors are true. The tablet is Wi-Fi only version with no 3G connectivity.
Some reports have suggested the delay might be because Google wants to install Jelly Bean, the next version of Android, but that would take more time for optimizations with the new software.
