Samsung is expected to announce Galaxy Gear smartwatch at IFA Berlin along with the much awaited Galaxy Note III Phablet on September 4th. Galaxy Gear details and specifications leaked earlier online and continue to do so as we near the launch date. The latest leak came from AmongTech which reports few specs that are missing earlier.
According to the report Galaxy Gear will come with either 6GB or 8GB internal storage, and it will have a 4MP camera capable of 720p recording. It will have at least 10 hours of battery life which is not great but not bas either. The report also says that their sources are in a warehouse in Texas, indicating the US manufacturing of the watch. Other rumored specifications of the device include 2.5-inch OLED touchscreen display with 320 x 320 pixels resolution. It will run Android Jelly Bean Operating system, other reports suggest that the OS is Samsung’s own and will only work with Samsung devices. We will know more on this in the coming days or on September 4th when Samsung shows the Galaxy Gear to the world.
Galaxy Gear is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor with 1GBG of RAM, and it will have a speaker tucked nicely into the strap. The device will have Accelerometer and few other sensors possibly and connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC.
As these specs are just rumors take them with a grain of salt, we are not far from the launch and we will know full details very soon.
