Samsung has launched its Galaxy Grand 2 smartphone in India. It was announced in this November globally, it is the successor to the popular Galaxy Grand smartphone. The design of the smartphone has not launched, it looks like a typical Galaxy device, but the back comes with faux leather or “pleather” like the Galaxy Note 3. Galaxy Grand 2 comes with a 5.25-inch display at 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) resolution, which is an upgrade from the previous WVGA display of the Galaxy Grand. It is a dual SIM phone with support for GSM + GSM. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box with TouchWIZ UI on top. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad Core Processor along with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It also supports a micro SD card slot for memory expansion upto 64GB.
It comes with an 8-megapixel camera at rear with Auto focus, LED flash and a front facing camera with 1.9MP sensor for video calling. It comes pre-installed with Samsung apps ChatON, Samsung Hub, S Health, Group Play, S Travel, S Translator, Samsung Link and Story Album. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, micro USB.
Samsung has not revealed the price of Galaxy Grand 2 in India, but Samsung Mobile Director, Manu Sharma said the expected price range for Galaxy Grand 2 is from Rs 22900 to Rs 24900. The final price will only be revealed when it goes for sale in the first-week or in the mid January 2014.
