Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Grand 2, successor to its popular Galaxy Grand smartphone. The design of the phone is like any Galaxy device, the back is similar to the Galaxy Note 3 released recently with faux leather type texture. It comes with 5.25-inch Display at 1280 x 720 pixels HD resolution. The previous phone Galaxy Grand supported only WVGA resolution at 480 x 800 pixels, the new phone also offers enhanced performance compared to its previous gen one according to Samsung.
Galaxy Grand 2 features a 5.25-inch TFT HD screen with 280ppi pixel density. It is powered by 1.2GHz Quad Core Processor along with 1.5GB of RAM. Internal storage is pegged at 8GB along with a micro SD card slot for memory expansion upto 64GB.
It comes with an 8-megapixel Autofocus camera with LED Flash, on the front it has a 1.9MP camera for video calls and selfies. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box skinned with TouchWiz interface from Samsung. It comes pre-installed with Samsung apps like ChatON, Samsung Hub, S Health, Group Play, S Travel, S Translator, Samsung Link and Story Album.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS + Glonass, micro USB.
Availability & Pricing: It is not immediately clear the availability and pricing details of the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. Expect it to be priced in the same range as Galaxy Grand, perhaps the Galaxy Grand may get price cut after this phone is launched in its place.
