Samsung has already sent invitations to an unpacked event this month on 24th at the MWC 2014. Samsung didn’t say what to expect at the event, but the “Unpacked 5” title gives the impression that it may announce the Galaxy S5 smartphone after all. Earlier we heard reports that Samsung is planning to release the Galaxy S5 early due to the poor performance of the Galaxy S4.
There are lot of rumors and speculations around the Galaxy S5 specifications, earlier it was leaked that Galaxy S5 might come with QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution display and iris scanning technology. These are just rumors and we don’t have any official information on the phone specifications.
NYTimes is reporting that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S5 at the Unpacked 5 launch event this month, citing someone who has the information about Samsung plans. The report claims that the event is going to be low key, not like the Galaxy S4 launch where Samsung has hyped the phone like anything. Some fo the Galaxy S4 features are criticized as gimmickry by reviewers, and this time Samsung might not hype these kind of features.
According to the report Samsung is expected to include a better camera in the Galaxy S5 and a newer generation processor, probably Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 for some markets and Exynos 6 for some markets. Samsung launches phones with different processors depending on the region and that may be true this time also.
